Manny Pacquiao, the best pound for pound figter in the world, will defend his WBO Welterweight title this Saturday against ex-welterweight champ Joshua Clottey from Ghana.  Originally Pacquiao was to be fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr. in what was expected to be the one of the biggest fights  in the history of the sport.  When that match fell apart over a drug testing dispute, Clottey stepped in.

Adding to the excitement of this fight is that it will be the first boxing match ever held at the 1.3 Billion dollar Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, TX.  The fight is expected to sell out all 45,000 tickets available and if this goes well, could lead to many more fights in the stadium.  Pacquiao seems very confident about defending his title and is going to serenade fans after the match.

As Manny Pacquiao prepped for his fight against Miguel Cotto on November 14 in Las Vegas, he took a few minutes to talk about fighting the pay-per-view king, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Pacquiao was adamant that Mayweather wanted nothing to do with the Filipino champion.

While this could be one of the biggest fights in boxing history, Pacquiao was outspoken in saying “I’m sure he doesn’t want to fight.”  Mayweather’s associates acknowledged that Pacquiao is on their radar, but no bout has been scheduled.
